The BD6 million new Seef Flyover will be inaugurated and officially opened for the public on Wednesday December, 31, 2008. The remaining road works, including planting trees, will be finished by end of January 2009, announced Essam Khalaf, Assistant Undersecretary for Roads at the Ministry of Works.
The new flyover is expected to ease traffic heading into Manama & Muharraq from the Seef District. The new roads built at the Seef District within the project and the revamp of Shaikh Khalifa Bin Salman Highway in the vicinity will also serve the increasing traffic in the area, following the opening of the new Bahrain City centre.
The new flyover will also ease traffic and congestion on the intersections of Central Market Roundabout, as this particular intersection serves a great percentage of traffic heading into Manama from the Seef District.
The project was awarded to Italy-based Federici SPA and Lebanon-based Batco.
