In cooperation with a range of ministries and municipalities, 43 rainwater tanks have been installed to drain rainwater from streets and various areas to counter heavy rain emergencies.
AUS Sanitary Engineering assistant deputy Khalifa Ebrahim Al-Mansour, regarding this issue, has reassured the availability of specialized emergency numbers for rainwater problems: 17545544 for streets and houses available during work hours only, and the Sanitary Engineering hotline 80001810 available 24 hours a day. These services aim to achieve top quality in tending to civilians in case of any rainwater or flooding problem.
13 rainwater tanks were provided by the Ministry of Works, 9 of them for sanitary engineering and the other four to counter rainwater flooding situations. Municipal Councils and the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture provided the rest of the rainwater tanks.
In addition, Al-Mansour says that the team residing in the Ministry of Works, in coordination and cooperation with different Ministries and Municipal Affairs, is doing its best to provide quick response and quality feedback to any emergency situation. With assistance from a commission specialized in dealing with those situations, and the constructive efforts and teamwork, dealing with rainwater and flooding problems will be a breeze, and all the preparations to do so will be prepared beforehand
