Roads Projects & Maintenance Director at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning Eng. Sayyed Bader Alawi revealed that the Ministry has achieved 80% progress in the revamp of roads in Blocks 107 & 108 in Hidd. All roads in Block 108 have been revamped, while work in Block 108 is underway and planned for completion in the 3rd quarter of this year.
Work comprises of developing infrastructure by improving the water distribution network and lighting system prior to carrying out the roads revamp works, which include reconstructing the roads and alleyways and paving them with brick, implementing a storm water drainage network, implementing ground channels for present and future use, providing traffic safety requirements, signage and installing speed humps.
