BUILDING MAINTENANCE DIRECTOR INSPECTS MAINTENANCE WORKS AT BAHRAIN CENTER FOR STRATEGIC, INTERNATIONAL AND ENERGY STUDIES

Building Maintenance Director of the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning Eng. Huda Mirza visited the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International & Energy Studies, in the presence of the Center's Human & Financial Resources Director Fatima Al Thawadi and a number of engineers from the Ministry.

During the visit, Mirza inspected the maintenance works in the center, which are 70% complete. Works include revamping the left wing of Building No.1, which comprise of replacing floor and roof tiles in all offices, renovating the health facilities, internal painting works and replacing all doors to go in line with the modern design of the center's offices and facilities. The total cost of the maintenance works is BD150,000.

Mirza explained that the Ministry seeks to gradually transform all government buildings into environment-friendly green buildings. Thus, windows and electricity conne​ctions have been replaced, in addition to replacing the normal light with the energy saving LED lights, replacing water connections and damaged health tools and re-distributing air conditioning pipes and vents. Works also include installing Capacitor Bank to improve the power factor and get rid of the inefficient virtual energy and as a result improve the electric system at the center.

The Human & Financial Director of the Center Fatima Al Thawadi commended the efforts extended by the Building Maintenance Directorate to follow-up work progress at the center.

The Ministry had earlier revamped the right wing of Building No.1; aiming to improve the internal environment and save energy.​
