KHALAF INSPECTS WORK ON ZALLAQ HARBOUR

HE the Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning Eng. Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf visited Zallaq Harbour Project to inspect work progress and assess any obstacles facing the project.

The Minister toured the location, accompanied by Roads Projects & Maintenance Director Eng. Sayyed Bader Alawi, Special Projects Chief Colin, Project Engineer Steve Flingin and Area Engineer Rashad Al Rayyan.

The Minister received a detailed explanation about all implementation aspects and the phases that have been completed so far. The team in charge of implementation explained that the harbour has the capacity to accommodate 112 boats, each of which is 10m long. The harbour also contains 56 stores to keep sailing equipment, a shaded yard to fix and maintain boats tools and a parking lot.

During the tour, reference was made to the construction of a road to serve the harbour. Completion of the roa​d is to coincide with the completion of construction works involved in the project. The Minister also directed for the construction of a garden within the boundaries of the harbour to serve residents of the area. Other additions to be included in the final phase of the project are to be looked into as well.​
