WORKS MINISTER INSPECTS THE E6 SANITARY PROJECT IN EAST RIFFA

As part of the Ministry of Works’ close follow-up to projects affecting people’s everyday lives, HE the Minister of Works Eng. Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf toured the E6 Sanitary Project in East Riffa, accompanied by Sanitary Engineering Assistant Undersecretary Eng. Khalifa Al Mansoor, Sanitary Engineering Planning & Projects Director Eng. Asma Murad, representatives from the consulting company supervising the project Watson Khonji and a number of engineers from the Ministry. Khalaf listened to a detailed explanation about progress achieved in the project; with a 30% overall progress. The Northern part of the project is now 13% complete and is planned for completion by February 2015. 16% of the houses in the area have been connected to the network. 19km out of a total of 33km long sanitary connections have been completed. 450 houses and real estates out of a total of 1740 have also been connected. The BD6.8 million E6 project covers Blocks 901, 903, 905 and 909. Works include implementing 38km long main and sub sewerage pipes, and 7 pumping and lifting stations.
