Information Technology Director at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning Hisham Sater revealed that the total number of users benefitting from the Internal Tenders eService amounted to 1197 users during year 2016.

Earlier, the Works Ministry, in coordination with the Information & eGovernment Authority, had launched the new eService to be added to the other eServices available on the Ministry's portal www.works.gov.bh and the national portal Bahrain.bh.

The Internal tenders at the Ministry target the tenders whose estimated cost varies between BD3,000 to BD25,000. The 11 E-services previously launched by the Ministry are namely  sanitary maintenance request, sanitary connection request, traffic signals request, report road fault, abnormal load permission, contractor pre-qualification, materials testing results, traffic diversion request, the material/product assessment and building maintenance request, and the Road Level Request eService.

According to Sater, the Internal Tenders eService allows the companies to search and view internal tenders and get the documents for any new tender or buy copies of them. The service also allows them to receive copy of the documents obtained previously. Through the new service, companies are able to electronically follow-up the new tenders on a daily basis, offer bids for the new tenders or learn further details about them. Also, the results of opening such tenders can be viewed on the site every Monday, therefore sparing companies the trouble of visiting the Ministry in person.

To ensure utmost benefit of the service, companies can view a short movie prepared by the Ministry; illustrating usage steps. The movie is available on all social media accounts for the Ministry (Instagram and YouTube Bahrain_works) and also igabahrain.
