WORKS MINISTRY HONORS TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT COORDINATORS

The Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning held an honoring ceremony for its Training & Development coordinators under the patronage of HE the Works Undersecretary Eng. Ahmed Al Khayyat. The ceremony was also attended by the assistant undersecretaries, directors and the Ministry's senior management members.

Al Khayyat delivered the opening speech, in which he referred to training as the most important component for the government and public institutes that seek excellence and success. He also commended the efforts of training and development coordinators and their constant collaboration with the training & development department, which has had a positive impact on making the training plan a success over the past years.

Also, Al Kbayyat stated that the human element is highly appreciated and taken care of by the leadership, and also by HE the Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning Eng. Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf, who believes that the success of any project implemented by the Ministry depends on the competency of the human cadres implementing such projects.

Human Resources Director at the Ministry Mahmoud Abdul Rahim explained that training and development is neither easy nor low in cost. On the contrary, training and development consumes a great deal of the Ministry's resources, time, money and effort.

He also stated that the Ministry has organized many training prgorammes during the year 2016, in which 2674 employees from the Ministry took part, compared to 2030 employees in 2015. Also, the Ministry hosted 148 students from different universities and colleges during 2016m with various specializations but mostly specializing in engineering.

Abdul Rahim said that the Ministry's training plan for the upcoming period focuses on self-learning and finding alternative resources that could contribute to the expansion of training processes.
