Information Technology Director at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning Hisham Sater revealed that the number of users accessing the Ministry's 10 electronic services during the first half of 2016 reached 9076 users. The services can be accessed through both the Ministry's portal www.works.gov.bh, and the eGovernment portal www.bahrain.bh.
According to Sater, April attracted the highest number of users, with 1445 users, after which came May with 1342 users, and then June with 1259 users.
Sater stated that the Ministry is always keen to apply new technologies and innovative ideas in its projects in order to improve services and save time and money. In order to keep pace with the eGovernment's programme, the Ministry will soon launch two new services in coordination with the eGovernment. The new services are namely Road Level Request and the Internal Tenders eService. The other 10 services are sanitary maintenance request, sanitary connection request, traffic signals request, report road fault, abnormal load permission, contractor pre-qualification, materials testing results, traffic diversion request, the material/product assessment and building maintenance request.
The materials testing results service targeted the highest number of users with 6112 users, and then came the traffic diversion service with 1733 requests and the material/product assessment and building maintenance request with 422 users.
