The Ministry of Works, represented by the Sanitary Engineering Operation & Maintenance Directorate, announced the commencement of the Annual Rainwater Network Maintenance Program, which is part of the 2013-2014 operation and maintenance program. Work commenced in June 2012.
The maintenance plan aims to clean 30,000 rainwater drainage chambers and around 3600 inspection chambers from 450 km of rainwater drainage network on the road network, in addition to cleaning and maintaining 36 rainwater stations and 134 rainwater drains.
