HE the Minister of Works Eng. Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf received at his office Southern Governorate Municipal Council Member Mohammed Moosa Al Balooshi. Present in the meeting were also Roads Assistant Undersecretary Huda Fakhro and Sanitary Engineering Assistant Undersecretary Khalifa Al Mansoor. At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister Khalaf lauded Mr. Al Balooshi’ efforts and continuous follow up to residents’ requests and demands in the district. He also referred to the maintenance projects recently implemented by the Ministry in East Riffa, which included maintaining and re-paving a number of roads in Block 907.

 

Also the revamp of roads in Blocks 905, 909 and 911 will be included within 2013-2014 budget cycle. Work in East Riffa sanitary project commenced in June 2011, and is being implemented by Abdul Rahman Al Banna Contracting Company, and supervised by MWH Khonji. Despite some delay in the implementation of the project from the contractor’s side, the Sanitary Engineering Planning & Projects Directorate is closely monitoring work to ensure completion in January 2014. Municipal Council Member Mohammed Moosa Al Balooshi referred to the gathering locations for rain water, which the Sanitary Engineering Directorate intends to implement in areas in East Riffa.
