MoW’s Assistant Undersecretary for Sanitary Engineering Khalifa Ebrahim Al Mansoor met with the Head of Muharraq Municipal Council Abdul Nasser Al Mahmeed and a number of municipal council members to discuss Muharraq Sewage Treatment Plant Project and the Sewer Conveyance System. During the meeting, Al Mansoor delivered a presentation on the project, which highlighted all technical aspects involved in the project and also relating to the lifting station planned for implementation in east of Hidd. ‘2 main major pumping stations and 22 minor pumping stations will be abandoned.

 

The project will feature the new Micro-Tunnelling Technique and involves internationally accredited measures and specifications, both on the environmental and health aspects,’ said Al Mansoor. ‘The treatment plant is equipped with an advanced technique to purify air and reduce smells; according to international environment standards,’ explained Al Mansoor.
