KHALAF COMMENDS THE EFFORTS EXTENDED BY THE SUPREME COUNCIL FOR WOMEN

On the occasion of the Supreme Council for Women's 15th Anniversary, HE the Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning Eng. Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf lauded the efforts extended by the Council and it's prominent role in supporting women in Bahrain; with the support extended to the Council by HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ebrahim Al Khalifa, wife to HM the King.

Khalaf reiterated the fact that the Bahraini woman is being supported on various levels and both on the regional and international levels; thanks to the support extended to her by the Leadership and Princess Sabeeka, Chairwoman of the Council. Khalaf also stated that the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs & urban Planning constantly seeks to hold training programmes specializing in the integration of women in society and providing equal opportunities for them, in addition to carrying out researches and organizing events, programmes and training workshops in the field of building capabilities and empowering women. ​

Khalaf also expressed pride at having women in leading positions like assistant undersecretaries, directors and chiefs. The Ministry has a total of 1534 staff, 16% of which are women, with 24% of them occupying leading positions and 32% with supervisory positions.
