HE the Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning Eng. Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf received at his office MP Abdul Hameed bin Abdul Hussain Al Najar, Northern Municipal Council member and representative to the 9th Constituency Khalid Ebrahim Qambar.
The meeting was also attended by Northern Municipality General Director Yousif Al Ghatam, the Assistant Undersecretary for Sanitary Engineering Eng. Khalifa Al Mansoor and Roads Planning & Design Director Eng. Kadhim Abdul Latif.
The meeting referred to needs and services at the Northern Governorate, including expanding Wali Al Ahad Highway, constructing 2 schools serving 7500 residents at the Northern Governorate, expanding Avenue 5 into a 2 lane avenue, constructing parking spaces in front of 2 mosques along Road 1205, implementing sufficient playgrounds in open yards and installing fences to protect them and allocating sufficient parking spaces for people with special needs.
The Minister reiterated the Ministry’s keenness to take into account all proposals and provide convenient solutions to them. The meeting also referred to shortage of garbage bins, the performance of the company in charge of the cleaning process and timing the collection and emptying of garbage in northern areas. At the end of the meeting, MP Al Najar and Municipal Council member Qambar commended the efforts extended by the Ministry to provide residents’ needs at the Northern Governorate.
