The Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning has participated in the 2015 International Conference for Leadership & Knowledge Management, which was recently organized by the Bahraini Management Society.
The Ministry’s Engineering Specialist and Chief of the Knowledge Management Unit Eng. Yousif Ameen participated in the conference with a paper under the theme “The Government Sector’s Experience in handling Knowledge Management”. Ameen highlighted the Ministry of Works’ adoption of a strategic plan since 2007, which is based on establishing a knowledge management system to organize knowledge sharing at the Ministry.
The plan is made of a number of initiatives directly linked to the knowledge management system, which is of a great benefit to project management. Ameen also referred to the publication of the first knowledge manual, which was published, printed and distributed to officials by the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning.
The publication was also transformed into an electronic publication and uploaded on the Ministry’s Intranet since 2013. In addition to that, Ameen shed light on the Ministry’s up-to-date internal information network, which facilitates the sharing of knowledge amongst staff.
