Roads Projects & Maintenance Director at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities & Urban Planning Eng. Raed Al Salah inspected the revamp of the Northern Road Intersection in Janabiya and Budaiya, accompanied by a number of engineers from the Ministry.
During his visit, Al Salah explained that once completed, the project will contribute to alleviating traffic congestion on roads in the area and will also increase traffic safety levels.
The BD631,954,000 project was awarded to Mohsin Haji Ali, and is part of the Ministry’s plan to improve infrastructure and the roads network in the Kingdom based on international standards.
The project comprises of transforming the roundabout connecting Budaiya Highway and Janabiya Highway into a traffic signal controlled interchange, adding lanes for side turns along the intersection, constructing part of the road leading to Northern Town, constructing Road 4077, upgrading the storm water drainage network and implementing pedestrian barriers.
