WORKS MINISTRY COMPLETES PRECAUTIONARY MAINTENANCE OF SEWERAGE AND STORM WATER DRAINAGE NETWORKS ON IMAM AL HUSSAIN AVENUE

Sanitary Engineering Operation & Maintenance Director at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning Eng. Nazha Abu Hindi visited the Capital Governorate to inspect the maintenance and cleaning of the sewerage and storm water drainage networks located at the vicinity of the Hussaini rituals that are to take place along Imam Al Hussain Avenue in Ashoora.

Abu Hindi stated that the Ministry has completed all preparations for Ashoora Season, where the Sanitary Engineering Operation & Maintenance Directorate has cleaned sewerage networks along Imam Al Hussain Avenue using high pressure tanks and has also carried out precautionary maintenance to the pumping stations in the area, in addition to cleaning and maintaining storm water drains and storm water pumping stations.

The Ministry seeks to ensure a healthy and safe environment to citizens and residents attending the Ashoora rituals in the area, which witnesses high population during this religious season.

Abu Hindi urges citizens and residents of the Governorate to keep sewerage and storm water drainage networks clean and abstain from practices that may result in blockages in the networks such as dumping oil and cigarettes.

The Works Ministry also urges citizens and residents to contact the sanitary engineering emergency hotline number 80001810, which operates 24/7, or visit the eGovernment portal www.bahrain.bh (sanitary complaints section) to report any problem in the network.
