As part of the Ministry’s commitment to implementing and supervising different projects for various governmental entities at the Kingdom, HE the Minister of Works, municipalities and urban planning Eng. Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf inspected the maintenance works presently taking place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Manama, which are being implemented by MoW’s Building Maintenance Directorate. The directorate is carrying out maintenance works, external painting works and a number of other external works, while the Construction Projects Directorate is implementing and supervising the renovation and development of 6 elevators at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ main building.
Also, work is under way to commence the construction of a generators room and revamp and renovate air distribution units and water pumps for the central air conditioning. The Minister Khalaf reiterated the Ministry’s keenness to constantly coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to complete all the maintenance and renovation works required in all buildings belonging to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs previously requested the Ministry of Works to form a committee comprising of all its technical specializations to inspect the general court building at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and carry out a complete survey for the purpose of implementing all the needed maintenance and renovation works.
The Minister was accompanied by the Ambassador and Assistant Undersecretary for Human & Financial Resources and Information Systems at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Khalil Yaqoob Al Khayyat, MoW’s Assistant Undersecretary for Construction Projects & Maintenance Eng. Mona Al Motawa, Building Maintenance Director Eng. Huda Mirza, Construction Projects Director Eng. Wadeea Marzooq and a number of engineers from the Ministry. The Minister Khalaf directed for a speedy completion of the present maintenance works and preparing the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Kingdom’s National Day celebrations; soon to take place.
