WORKS MINISTRY ORGANIZES AN OPEN MEETING FOR HIDD RESIDENTS BLOCKS 109-112

The Ministry of Works organized an open meeting that hosted residents of Blocks 109-112 in Hidd. The meeting aimed to introduce them to the 2 dirt roads paving projects that have recently commenced; in line with directives from HRH the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa’s and HRH the Crown Prince’s directives to ministries and governmental institutions to attend to people’s needs and requirements and communicate with them directly to listen to their suggestions and comments. MoW’s Acting Public Relations & Media Director Mohammed Asheer explained that the meeting is one of a series of other introductory meetings aiming to inform residents of various Governorates about the Ministry’s projects in their areas by directly getting in touch with them. According to Asheer, the Ministry introduced Hidd residents to the projects taking place in their area by organizing an introductory exhibition comprising of 4 sections. The first section referred to the design and construction of the two projects. The second section highlighted the services included within the projects.
 
The third section indicated traffic safety, while the fourth section indicated the role of Materials Engineering in the assessment and quality control during the implementation of the projects. The fifth and final section was dedicated to residents’ comments and suggestions; with the aid of the Ministry’s Community Service Group, which noted a number of comments and suggestions and provided residents with the numbers to contact the Ministry. ‘The dirt roads paving project in Hidd 109 will serve 422 residential units and aims to pave 92% of roads in the Block. Works include paving a total of 8km long roads. The dirt roads paving project in Hidd 112 will serve 306 residential units and aims to pave 81.18% of roads in the Block,’ explained Asheer. Asheer added that the Ministry lauds Hidd Sports Club for their contribution to the success of the meeting by allowing it to be held at the club. Thanks were also extended to residents, who expressed appreciation towards the Ministry’s efforts in organizing this meeting and the efforts extended in implementing roads and infrastructure projects in Hidd.
