MoW’s Roads Projects & Maintenance Director Eng. Raed Al Salah revealed that the Ministry gas achieved 72% progress in the paving of dirt roads in Sanad Blocks 743-745, in addition to Roads 4394 & 4580 and the environs.
The project is part of the Government’s program aiming to improve infrastructure in the Kingdom, give priority to the paving of dirt roads in urban areas and create an integrated roads network in all areas in the Kingdom.
According to Al Salah, works involved in the project comprise of paving roads at a length of 3km, creating proper infrastructure, providing parking spaces, storm water drainage networks, implementing ground channels for the use of electricity, water and telecommunication services, installing light poles, and signage.
Upon directives from the Minister of Works, both the number and the size of storm water drainage tanks have been increased in order to accommodate the expected amount of rains during the rainy season. The BD517,507 project was awarded to Al Wardi Construction Company. The project is hoped to serve 408 residential units and aims for a paving percentage of 82.10% for all roads in the block.
