WORKS MINISTRY AWARDS 9 TENDERS AND INVITES BIDS FOR 7 TENDERS IN AUGUST 2014

MoW’s Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Services Eng. Ahmed Abdul Aziz Al Khayyat revealed that the Ministry awarded 9 tenders worth BD7,420,861 and also invited bids for 7 tenders worth BD4,090,073 in August 2014. According to Al Khayyat, the tenders for which bids were invited in the roads sector included the revamp of Abu Shaheen Road, Debal and Noon in Riffa, in addition to the revamp of East Eker Village, Blocks 623 and 624. The awarded tenders also covered the revamp of Al Azil Avenue. In the Sanitary Sector, the tenders for which bids were invited included the Consulting Services for the designing and supervision of the project aiming to benefit from treated waters produced at Tubli STP. As for the 9 awarded tenders in August, they covered the roads, sanitary and construction sectors. In the roads sector, the awarded tenders included the re-construction of Sh. Ahmed biin Salman Avenue in Riffa Block 905 at a cost of BD409,831, the BD288,033 revamp of Abdul Rahman Al Dakhil Avenue in Manama Block 321, the BD193,657 construction of parking lots 1 & 2 along Road 13 in Tubli and the revamp of Avenue 4201 in Ghuraifa. As for the Sanitary Sector, the awarded tenders included the BD1,297,650 urgent supply and install of sanitary pumps, and the BD4,775,833 rehabilitation of the sewerage networks A & B (phases 2 & 3). ‘The Procurement Department at the Ministry’s Cost Engineering Directorate approved 124 purchase orders covering various sectors at the Ministry at a cost of BD240,494,’ said Al Khayyat.
