WORKS MINISTRY COMMENCES THE REVAMP OF ABU SHAHEEN, DAIBAL AND NOON AVENUES

MoW’s Roads Projects & Maintenance Director Eng. Raed Al Salah revealed that the BD698,717 revamp of Abu Shaheen, Daibal and Noon Avenues was recently awarded to National Excavation Establishment. The project is part of the Ministry’s program to improve infrastructure in all Kingdom’s areas and attend to citizens’ and residents’ needs and requirements. ‘Works in the project are to commence soon and they will take 36 weeks to complete; comprising of revamping the avenues at a length of 1.8km. The revamp of Abu Shaheen, Daibal and Noon Avenues include re-paving them with asphalt, constructing parking spaces in front of commercial shops, providing paved passages for pedestrians, and installing traffic signs and instructions to increase traffic safety levels,’ said Al Salah. Also, a storm water drainage system will be implemented; including sewerage tanks and ground channels to prevent asphalt cutting in the future. Lighting poles will also be implemented in collaboration with the Electricity & Water Authority. The Ministry apologizes for any inconvenience and urges citizens and residents to adhere to traffic and warning signs and diversions at the project location.
