WORKS MINISTRY CONTINUES TO IMPLEMENT SANITARY WORKS IN MUHARRAQ

MoW’s Sanitary Engineering Assistant Undersecretary Eng. Khalifa Al Mansoor revealed that the Ministry continues to implement sanitary works in Muharraq; explaining that the Ministry eliminated 18 main and sub pumping stations and the old sewerage network in Muharraq, as part of Muharraq Plant and the Conveyance System Project. He added that the Ministry connected the network directly to the deep tunnels in Muharraq Plant; extending from Busaiteen to the plant’s locations close to Khalifa bin Salman Port at a length of 16km and a depth of 15m.
 
According to Al Mansoor, the revamp programme comprises of eliminating 2 main stations (B-1 close to Muharraq Post and B-2 close to Arad Fort) and 22 sub pumping stations located in different areas in Muharraq Governorate; inside residential areas, 10 of which are located in Hidd in the heart of residential areas. ‘Works comprise of revamping the sewerage network along Hatim Al Taei Avenue; expected to complete by the end of September, in addition to sanitary works in Halat Abu Maher; expected to complete mid-September,’ he said.
 
The Ministry completed work in a number of locations nearby schools, such as Avenue 10 that hosts Istiqlal Secondary School for Girls and Ahmed bin Majed Avenue; close to Asma Zat An-Nitaqain Primary School. Works in these locations were completed in coordination with all service related parties before the beginning of the new school year.
